AOTB Annual Jazz and Wine Festival on the Beach

September 7 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

AOTB Annual Jazz and Wine Festival on the Beach

Please join your AOTB neighbors for our annual Jazz and Wine fest to mark the end of another great summer in our wonderful community.  Lori Strum, Robin Anderson and many others have arranged for some really cool jazz bands to play for our enjoyment on Saturday, September 7th, from 2:00 until 7:00 pm on our Magnolia Avenue beach.  We’ll be sheltered from the early autumn sun by some big tents and there will be chairs and tables to sit with your neighbors as we enjoy the bay, hopefully the breeze, and each other’s company.

As all that jazz washes over us, and as we have done for the past few seasons, Margaret Delia has also arranged for three great food trucks—-Big Rich’s Smokeshack, El Primo

Mexican, and Rita’s Ice and Ice Cream—-to help us feed our inner selves.  And what about the wine part of the Jazz and Wine fest you might ask?  Well, another great suggestion Lori and Robin came up with a few years back was making this a real party by everyone bringing a bottle (or more?) of their favorite wines to share with their neighbors.  We’ll collect them all at the big tent and a few of our more sober residents (for a while anyway) will pour sample cups of whatever folks choose to share.  For those of you whose tastes run to barley and hops, feel free to bring a six-pack or two and we’ll keep them cool until they get shared.  We’ll also have AOTB T-shirts and ball caps for sale and copies of our great AOTB History Book on hand for those who haven’t yet gotten theirs.

We’re asking for a small donation of $20.00 per family-of-five to help offset part of the cost of the entertainment, tents, tables, chairs, cups, soda/water/ice, consumables, and whatever other goodies Lori and Robin may have in store for us.  We’d also ask that as many of you as can, just walk over to our beach since parking is so very limited everywhere in our neighborhood.  And finally, as always we’ll need some help setting up before the fun starts and cleaning up after it’s over, so please let Lori (baystrum@aol.com) and Robin (timebuffy@aol.com) know what you can do to help and when.

Every year we get a great turnout and every year AOTB grows stronger through this signature community-building event.  So please, not only join the friends you know, but make an effort to meet what are sure to become new friends in one of the most congenial settings ever, Arundel-on-the-Bay.
