We’ve had a very busy Springtime, trying to fit many winter scheduled projects into just a few months. The winter weather and last arrival of Spring weather sure slowed us down. As of writing this article for the newsletter we have made many improvements to our community.
- At the beach we added new steps, beach volleyball court, a lot of repairs and clean-up and six kayak rack, for those with ocean kayaks who wish to launch off of the Beach. If you wish to put a kayak there, there is only room for six, and they are on a first come basis. Remember you must have an OHCA sticker on your kayak to leave it there. We also recommend you lock it. Use and storage on this and the other racks is at your own risk. Look for Beach Wifi available to those who wish to use it, starting in June. More info will be available later on it.
- At the boat ramp, we did a lot of clean-up and added a kayak rack for up to six kayaks as well.
- At Fishing Creek is also did a lot of clean-up and are in the midst of doing repairs to the docks, caused by flooding and winter weather.
- A Booker pier we did repairs and clean-up form the winter.
- We also cleaned out the swales on Fishing Creek and got the water flowing again. BioHabitats is currently working on Harbor and Booker roads. Other roads will be worked on this summer.
If you see damage to Community property, or things that need to be fixed, please enter them on the webform on our website: https://www.oysterharbor.org/damage-report-form/
We hope everyone has a safe and fun Summer.
