President’s Report, Piers Report and Other Reports Combined
We store all of our projects online, in Podio. Below is a summary list of those projects and what has been accomplished since the last Board Meeting.
Projects and their status
Since the last meeting, here is a project status list:
- Flooding (a few small spots left for 2017)
- Pier projects (Looking into a dredging permit)
- Harbor lot upgrade for power, pavilion, water tank, shed repair and basketball net (Electrical to start and shed repairs)
- Buying property (On hold as we need to petition the County. Would need a champion)
- Piers Payments on PayPal/CC (in planning)
- Community signs (New size requirements for towing. Fishing, beach & pier signs complete, except Tow away signs are still to be sized & ordered)
- Slip leases (On track)
- Community Sailboats/boats (One laser complete, one underway. Rowboat is complete, working on procuring a kayak & maybe a paddle-board later)
- Exercise course (Repairs to hand holds on climbing wall in progress)
- Summer beach clean-up (Underway)
- Social events calendar for this season (Will have 2018 Calendar by March 31)
- Planning for dog wash at Fishing Creek [In planning still]
- Planning for feet wash at Beach [In planning still]
- Washington Saltwater swale at boat ramp (Upper side not yet complete)
- Repair Fishing Creek floating dock posts (Underway)
- Booker pump out (Fixed. Need to work out pump out log issues with email-to-log & sign)
- Community Condition Assessment (about 80% complete – no new progress)
- Oyster Harbor video commercial (Complete) Was seen by County Exec and Governor
- Scanning old OHCA files is underway (ongoing)
Board Approvals/Motions Needed
To accomplish these, we would need to Board to approve the following:
- Permission to continue with Moore variance hearings
- Permission to add WiFi to Fishing Creek
- Permission to continue with electrical, water tank and pavilion planning at Harbor Lot
- Permission to add a Social Media Committee to OHCA
- Permission to purchase a kayak for the Community (sometime in Spring 2018 if we can not get a donation)
