Old Business

  • Final letter received from the County on complaint about environmental violations.
    • Asks that the Community voluntarily remove debris dumped on Cross road in 2003 after Hurricane Isabel.
    • No other negative findings.
    • Reminds us to always communicate planned work with both the county and MDE. In the past OHCA has mostly communicated with the County and not MDE on ‘maintenance’ work.
  • Still working with the county on flooding on AOTB road (Creek drive plan underway)
  • Website issues repaired, but recovery of older and missing minutes is underway
  • Projects under way and preparing for Spring work

New Business

  • Spring work is underway including finishing up a lot of water management efforts
  • Gate repair is underway and new parts are on order
  • Beach Wifi, all parts are in and hopefully will be working by end of April
  • Window broken and possible attempted break-in on AOTB by a young man in our community.
  • Board Member replacement necessary between now and September elections
  • Security Chair replacement necessary between now and September elections

President’s Report, Piers Report and Other Reports Combined

Below is a summary list of those projects and what has been accomplished since the last Board Meeting.

Projects and their status

Since the last meeting, here is a project status list:

  • Dredge the channel in Oyster Creek (In permitting)
  • Dredge fireboat channel at Fishing Creek (In planning)
  • Creek Drive swale maintenance (mostly complete)
  • Washington drive speed humps and final paving (mostly complete)
  • New drafting site at Booker pier and refreshing gravel (In process and will piggyback on DPW open permit)
  • Speed Radar sign (In planning. Eric to order in late April)
  • Slip leases for 2021-22 (Underway)
  • Compiling minutes and posting 2018 to Present (Compiled and will send to John Gibbs hopefully this month)
  • Phragmites 2nd phase removal at 1300 Harbor Rd (In planning, started grading permit)
  • Sea nettle nets (Some repairs needed, scheduled for May)
  • Spring clean-up (started)
    • Misc trash at fishing creek to dump (complete)
    • Fix Gravel at Fishing Creek entrance (not yet started)
    • Wood chips at playground, exercise course and kayak racks (complete)
    • Trim tree at community beach (complete)
    • New fence parts and posts at community beach (not yet started)
    • Fix post at Fishing Creek (not yet started)
    • Trim tree branches that are hanging along community roads (mostly complete)
    • Clean up community beach in general (complete)
    • Fix cedar shingles on gazebo roof (not yet started)
    • Any repairs to gazebos from winter (not yet started)
    • Any repairs to picnic tables needed (not yet started)
    • Inspect playground at beach and playground area for damage (complete)
    • Inspect climbing wall for damage (not yet started)
    • Lift swimming net and repair (not yet started)

    • Replace and clean up plants at beach, fishing creek and rain gardens as needed (underway)
    • Pier boards inspected and repaired as needed (mostly complete)

    • Un-winterize pump-out (scheduled)
    • Repair warped boards at beach (not yet started)
  • Beach Wifi repair (New Ap configured and tested. Needs to be mounted)
