Do you want to be a Watershed Steward?
Application due by Sept 8; Course begins in October Information Sessions: August 18, 25, & 30 The Watershed Stewards Academy is accepting
applications for its next Master Watershed Steward Certification Course through September 8 for the next course, which begins in October.
The Watershed Stewards Academy trains and supports community leaders to serve as Master Watershed Stewards in the protection, restoration and conservation of our watersheds, working to reduce the negative impacts of stormwater runoff in Anne Arundel County. You can make a difference in the health of our waterways.
Oyster Harbor already has one Master Steward, Norm MacLeod. In this case, the more the better! Become certified and you can help Norm keep our waterways healthy.
Course topics include
RainScaping techniques, pollution reduction strategies, community outreach and
engagement,funding, and many
others. Following the coursework, each
Master Watershed Steward completes a Capstone Project including outreach and
education, a community stormwater assessment and action to reduce pollutants
and infiltrate stormwater. Communities are encouraged to to send two people so that they can work together once
certified.
