Metavivor Adventure Race to go through our neighborhood on Saturday
The first annual race will go through our neighborhood Saturday
morning, sometime after 7 a.m. The bicyclists will be making their way
up Bay Ridge Road and Arundel on the Bay Road so there may be some
brief traffic delays as they pass through.
The bikers will proceed down Arundel on the Bay Road to Cohasset
to Magnolia then up Narragansett in the Arundel-on-the-Bay
neighborhood and into Oyster Harbor. They will continue up Shore Drive,
then Washington Drive to Louis and then back to Arundel on the Bay
Road, and into the Bay Ridge neighborhood.
The Adventure Race -- which begins at 7 a.m. with a 1 mile kayak
race, then mores to the 17.1 mile bicycle race and ends with
a 5K run -- is being held to raise money for research into
metastatic breast cancer. This refers to cancer that has spread
beyond breast tissue into other parts of the body.
