Meeting Update:

County Councilman Chuck Ferrar addressed our general meeting on March 23. He told us about the difficult budget situation the County faces in the next few years and legislation he has introduced to help reduce spending. Mr. Ferrar, a very personable man, told us a little about himself and said that while he has been active in politics for some time, he agreed to accept the appointment to the Council because he wants to give back to the community that has given so much to him. He has decided to run for the seat this fall in the general election. Mr. Ferrar pledged to help the community find sources of grant funds for projects such as the inlet bulkhead repair and said that he and his assistant, Valerie Miller, stand ready to assist in any way they can.
