Oyster Harbor Family Beach Day the official opening of our beach Saturday, June 6 noon - 4 p.m.
- Kids' bike parade begins at noon, down Washington Drive to the beach.
- Picnic begins at 12:30 p.m.
- Enjoy music by our neighbor, Orlando Phillips.
- NEW! At 2 p.m. we'll do a Wade-In
at the beach to note water clarity. This fun non-scientific way of
measuring water clarity has been done for years in rivers and creeks
all around the Chesapeake. It was started in South County by retired
State Senator Bernie Fowler. Saturday morning wade-ins will have taken
place in Spa Creek and Back Creek. (More info on that.)
The The Wade-In centers around the actual WADING INTO the water.
Participants mark the depth when they can no longer see their sneakers.
If we do this every year we'll have a record of one measure of Bay
health right here in our neighborhood.
- Volunteers
still needed to help with face painting, grilling, children's games,
set-up and/or clean-up. Please contact Patty Jenkins, 410-626-1766 or
email pattyjenkins1@comcast.net to help.

facility and its fire fighters and emergency medical first responders.
There
will be tours of the fire station, a meet and greet with the personnel
assigned to the station, and static displays of the emergency
equipment. We hear that the Anne Arundel Alarmers Association will be

Community Tree Trimming
Monday & Tuesday, June 8 & 9 8 a.m. to late afternoon
OHCA
is working to keep the community safe and beautiful. Just in time for
summer, a community-wide tree trimming will be conducted on Monday,
June 8th and Tuesday, June 9th.
The purpose is to remove
dead trees on community property and to trim back any branches that are
growing through electrical wires and causing a possible safety hazard.
The
trimmers will be in the neighborhood from 8 a.m. through late afternoon
on June 8th and 9th. Please remember not to park cars on the
streets.
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Kathy Shaffer at kathykinney2000@yahoo.com.
